Patio heaters

Patio heaters allow you to enjoy your deck or patio year-round. After you've invested in a deck and enjoyed relaxing on it all summer long, you will begin to miss it during other seasons. Patio heaters allow you to watch the autumn foliage change from your deck in the spring leaves bloom as you relax on the patio.

Patio heaters are also called umbrella heaters. You have probably seen them at outdoor cafés and restaurants. They are about 10 feet tall and look like large metal lanterns or mushrooms. (Sometimes they are called mushroom heaters because of their appearance.)

Patio heaters get their power from natural fuel and work like a giant heat lamp. The heating element sends out heat and can raise surrounding temperatures by as much as 25°F. You will know your patio heater is working as you see the flames and here the push of the gas as the surrounding area warms up.
